Live an incredible day in the UNESCO World Heritage village of Alberobello, experience amazing Trulli and Puglian best heritage foods. This “hand-crafted” itinerary boasts a lot of first taste suggestions for the most keen, discerning, and curious travelers. Itinerary

Friday Day 1
Welcome to Puglia

Arrival at Bari Airport, or Bari train station
Pick-up, transfer to the hotel checking in
Welcome drink matched with some regional snacks
Briefing about the tour
Enjoy a free afternoon in Ceglie Messapica, or take your time for a little bit relaxation at swimming pool of the hotel. Welcome dinner with excellent food and great local wines

Saturday Day 2
Ceglie Messapica & Manduria: Present, Past… Primitivo

Discover Ceglie Messapica, one of the most fascinating town of Itria Valley. You’ll have the chance to see the archeological remains of the ancient Messapi civilization, including the splendid four lines of walls.
Enjoy a superlative taste of Primitivo wine varieties, paired with some local specialties, like cacio cavallo cheese, salsiccia, almond sweets.
Then explore the organic vineyards with 800-year-old olive trees, wine making areas, the evocative barrique cellar. Visit to the stunning Primitivo Wine Museum, unique for its demo-ethno-anthropologic relevance. Later we will meet up for a boozy dinner in a typical Fornello in Cisternino

Sunday Day 3
Cisternino, Martina Franca & Private Cookery Class

Explore Cisternino, Puglia’s most famous “whitewashed town”, known locally as a gastronomic “Mecca” and the stunning town of Martina Franca, famed for vibrant historic center and unique baroque architecture.
Enjoy a savory cooking class at a locals’ home.
Gianni & his wife Giuseppina will teach us how to prepare a selection of Puglian typical recipes, such as the famous “orecchiette cime di rapa”, polpette (meat balls), and some grilled vegetarian side dishes.
Follows a memorable dinner with all dishes we prepared and great local wine at Gianni’s home. Transfer to the hotel.

Monday Day 4
Amazing Trulli: Alberobello & Best Puglian Heritage Foods

Visit a historic Masseria in Itria Valley, home to an ancient olive mill and some of the oldest olive trees in the region: incredible, ancient gnarled living monuments.
Enjoy a tasting of some delicious extra vergin olive oils a memorable lunch with regional & organic products at Corrado’s historic Masseria
In the afternoon it’s time to explore Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site unique to Puglia. This village is famous for Trulli, little whitewashed houses with conical roofs unique to Puglia.
Learn about the fascinating story of Trulli and visit trulli made into shops, restaurants, and even a church.
Take time on your own to explore further, shop and admire these unique creations.
For dinner you will be hosted by Francesco, the chef of a local trattoria in Alberobello, who will delight you with wheat pasta characteristically flavored with cime di rapa (“turnip tops”),

Tuesday Day 5
Oria, Torre Canne Beach & Dinner at a Benedictine Abbey

Discover the legendary less travelled city of Oria in the province of Brindisi. In the old town you’ll be stroked by the narrow streets of the vibrant historic centre and the treasures of the majestic castle.
Experience the gallery of beheaded monks lined up in the crypt beneath the cathedral.
Next stay relaxed at Torre Canne, renowned for its spacious beaches with fine white sand and soft dunes covered in wild rosemary and thyme, actually one of the most stunning beaches of all the region .
For dinner you’ll enjoy a traditional 3-course menu at a regional trattoria, charmingly located in an ancient Benedictine abbey.

Wednesday Day 6
Historic Ostuni, Hands-on Bread Making & Gelato Tasting

Admire the stunning Ostuni, known as “The White City”, with its Arab influenced architecture and a labyrinth of streets designed to confuse invaders. You will explore corners and passageways that hide delights at every turn (guided tour).
Visit to the oldest bakery and learn how to prepare hands-on Puglian bread, including “Taralli” (ring-shaped breadsticks), Monachelle (regional pastries).
Your day in Ostuni goes on with a gelato demonstration at one of the very best gelaterie in all Puglia, watching the process of creating a fresh batch of delicious gelato or sorbetto.
Sit down in a picturesque piazza for a special gelato tasting of house specialties.
There will be time for some shopping at the town’s lovely shops and boutiques or, if you prefer, savour an aperitivo at a fantastic bar while admiring the sunset.
For dinner, we will follow the locals in a typical trattoria near the magnificent cathedral.

Thursday Day 7
Historic Bari

Feel the real South Italian lifestyle in Bari, a sparkling resort town with a lovely historic centre. Stroll Bari Vecchia, the medieval heart of Puglia’s biggest city, and stop for a cold lemonade or an iced coffee at one of the many sidewalk cafes .
See the Basilica of S. Nicholas, one of the most beautiful example of Romanesque architecture in Apulia, the cathedral, Piazza del Ferrarese.
Live the experience of Arco Basso where some old ladies make the traditional pasta of Puglia, orecchiette, on the street.
Enjoy a real Puglian lunch with home-made “pasta” with turnips or cherry tomatoes sauce at signora Nunzia’s home in Bari Vecchia. Tiramisù and local wine included.
Follows a free afternoon in Bari .
For dinner tonight you will enjoy a majestic Napoletanean Pizza served al fresco at one of the most famous pizzerias of Itria Valley

Optional – Explore the mysterious Castel del Monte, a UNESCO World Heritage site and unique piece of medieval architecture. Learn about its strange symmetry, the octagonal floor plan flanked by eight towers. Friday Day 8
Amazing Lecce: Baroque, Renaissance & Papier-Machè

Visit the astonishing city of Lecce, praised as “The Florence of the South”. Admire churches, shops, historic sights and fascinating secret corners of the downtown.
Stroll through the amazing “Streets of Baroque & Renaissance”
Experience a boozy meeting with the local masters of papier-machè handicraft, famous all over the world for their unique masterpieces.
Enjoy for lunch marvelous street food sampling (rustici, pucce, panzerotti) strolling the streets of Baroque and Renaissance.
In the afternoon free time for shopping in Lecce at your leisure.
Explore stunning historic Masseria, unique to Puglia, equipped with Byzantine underground olive mill, and enjoy regional absolutely best organic products, including great local wine

Saturday Day 9
Unspoiled Salento! Gallipoli, Porto Selvaggio Bay & Beach

Visit historic Gallipoli, including the traditional fish market, the vibrant historic centre, the cathedral, S.Agata Island, a stunning underground oil mill dating back to the 14th century.
Live the fabulous experience of hands-pasta making by Anna’s home
Next you will enjoy a picnic open air in the Regional Park of Porto Selvaggio, suggested by National Geographic as one of the best 10 places in the world to be visited. Scheduled for you is also the visit to a medieval sightseeing coastal tower, unique to Puglia, and picnic lunch with scenic sea view
After lunch stay relaxed on the uncontaminated stunning sandy beach of the Porto Selvaggio bay, known only to locals with fabulous swimming opportunities
Visit a boutique olive estate & enjoy a superlative Oil Tasting, inc. gourmet 4-course dinner with starred chef Salvatore, a fellow of Gualtiero Marchesi

Sunday Day 10
Matera & the Cave Inhabitants

Feel like to be back in time for a day and explore one of the most fascinating towns you have ever visited, “The Underground City” of Matera.
En route to Matera, we will stop in in Altamura for a sampling of the famed Altamura bread and focacce.
See one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world and the most outstanding, intact example of a troglodyte (cave-dwelling) settlements in the Mediterranean region dating back from the Palaeolithic period.
Since its UNESCO classification, and Mel Gibson filmed “The Passion of the Christ” in 2004, the “Sassi” are now being regenerated with many thriving as businesses, hotels and restaurants.
Then visit a local craftsman, famous for making stone toys (Fischietti). Then it’s a tasting session of regional specialties, including Matera DOC bread, wine and Prosecco.
Take your time for relaxation on the swimming pool of the hotel or the gorgeous sandy beaches of Salento, next door to the hotel.
Enjoy a farewell dinner at a seaside boutique restaurant with seaside view
