Day 2 : Sunday
Amazing Lecce & Pizza Perfection

Visit to the astonishing city of Lecce, “The Florence of the South”, strolling the streets of Baroque and Renaissance. You will be struck by the intensity of the warm yellow pale typical of this region and the arabesque embroidery of baroque art. Follows free time in Lecce. Take time on your own to explore further, shop and admire this unique town. In the afternoon it’s time to a memorable pizza making class at one most beloved Pizzerias. The owner Rocco will teach us the fine and fun art of pizza making. With his expert guidance we will create, from scratch, our very own Neapolitan style pizzas. For dinner, we will enjoy celebratory Neapolitan pizzas paired with local wines or craft beers

Day 3: Monday
Glorious Otranto, The Light House of Punta Palascìa, Wine Tasting at Historic Winery

Otranto in Puglia is a star. Here we will take you to visit the impressive historic centre, UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Cathedral hosting the famous pavement-mosaic The Tree of Life. But also the suggestive Lighthouse of Punta Palascìa and the Bauxite Lake. Here, directly on a natural terrace overlooking the sea, you will enjoy a yummy picnic lunch with best regional specialties and great wine. Then you’ll learn all about prehistoric monuments, e.g. menhirs and dolmens, dating mostly to Bronze Age in the “megalithic district” in Giurdignano. Follows a memorable wine tasting (3 labels) in a historic distinguishing for top wine production. A 3-course traditional dinner at charming Agriturismo with seaside-view will be the grand finale.

Day 4: Tuesday
Cheese Making & Cooking with Locals in Historic Gallipoli

You will experience a mozzarella-making workshop at an idyllic seaside family-owned farmhouse, atmospherically located. Follows a tasting of products of the regional gastronomy, actually a reachable variety of cheese, hands- on bread, cakes, honey, marmalades.
Next you’ll explore historic Gallipoli and its Greek-inspired fortified historic centre, including S.Agata Island and the magnificent baroque cathedral. Stone walls and an ancient castle hide narrow streets of whitewashed buildings, where nets, herbs and tomatoes hang in doorways and windows, and friendly locals smile as you wander the cobbled maze. Visit the vibrant open­air fish market of the Porto Vecchio and the astonished underground oil mill of Palazzo Granafè. Enjoy a yummy Italian aperitif with typical regional snacks, like rustico, calzone, focacce on a terrace overlooking the sea. Then it’s time for an authentic farm to table culinary adventure. You will learn about cleaning, preparing and cooking fish with Maria who will host you at her place. Together you will prepare some traditional regional recipes with seasonal vegetables and Ionian fish based on daily catch – it doesn’t get fresher than that! Follows a dinner matched with great local wine with our new friends. With full bellies and happy hearts, we will bid farewell to Gallipoli

Dat 5: Wednesday
Amazing Trulli: Alberobello & Best Puglian Heritage Foods

Our tours begins taking you in some of the region’s most fascinating sights.
You will visit a historic Masseria in Itria Valley, home to an ancient olive mill and some of the oldest olive trees in the region: incredible, ancient gnarled living monuments. After an entertaining and informative tour, you will enjoy a tasting of some delicious extra vergin olive oils.
In the early afternoon we will then head to Alberobello, UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for Trulli, little whitewashed houses with conical roofs unique to Puglia. On our guided Alberobello tour you will learn the fascinating story of their origin and visit trulli made into shops, restaurants, and even a church. Take also time on your own to admire further these unique creations, sip a cappuccino and/or a glas of wine
Next it’s time to you will enjoy a savory cooking class at a locals’ home, a typical Trullo-house, unique to Puglia. This will be absolutely outstanding !
Damiano & his wife Antonella will teach us how to prepare a selection of Puglian typical recipes, such as the famous “orecchiette cime di rapa”, polpette (meat balls), and some grilled vegetarian side dishes. Follows a memorable dinner with all dishes we prepared and great local wine at Gianni’s home. Transfer to the hotel.
