Island Peak (6160m) – otherwise called ImjaTse in Nepali – offers a magnificent display of the Khumbu region from its summit. It faces Nuptse and the 8000m peaks Lhotse, Lhotse Middle and Lhotse Shar. On the summit, climbers can recognize the Cho Polu (6.734mt.) transcending the solidified rushes of the Lhotse Shar ice sheet. Besides, if the climate conditions allow, Mt.Makalu (8,475m) is obvious toward the East.
