Town Square Band Stand

Historical Marker being dedicated to ‘Beatle’ George Harrison who was the first of the ‘Fad Four’ to step foot in America. This was just before they became famous. He came to our town to visit his sister (on stage). Until recent years she ran a B & B inn called the ‘Hard Day’s Nite’. Visit Benton, IL 62812 to read the entire plaque.
This is also the home town of actor John Malkovich, his aunt Phyllis and John Jr., and others I don’t recall.

Copenhagen Denmark train station

The one thing in Copenhagen that I loved the most was the train station. It is the heart of the city and was our central point of doing everything while visiting. Our city bus stopped there, our trains to outlying areas began there, and it provided us a place to get essentials (like cola and the wonderful Danish pastries) There was even a McDonalds (and no, we did not go there for authentic Danish food!)
